Who We Are / Our Market

The Albuquerque Publishing Company is the production and distribution agent for the Albuquerque Journal. APC also oversees the sales, marketing, human resources, purchasing, accounting, maintenance, security and technical aspects necessary to publish a daily newspaper.

The Albuquerque Journal proudly serves as the newspaper of record for the state, with five separate morning editions, including The Journal, Journal Santa Fe, Rio Rancho Journal, West Side Journal and Journal North. Each edition provides expanded reach statewide and delivers the news coverage New Mexican's have come to depend on. From investigative reporting and provocative opinions to revealing features and grass-roots community news, the Journal has been serving New Mexico since 1880.

Our Market

Albuquerque is home to the University of New Mexico (UNM) and Kirtland Air Force Base as well as Sandia National Laboratories and Petroglyph National Monument. The Sandia Mountains run along the eastern side of Albuquerque and the Rio Grande flows through the city north to south. Albuquerque's climate is usually sunny and dry, averaging no more than 10-12 inches (250 to 300 mm) of precipitation per year. With more than 300 days of sunshine annually, Albuquerque is considered as having one of the best climates in North America.

New Mexico has a relatively long history of occupation by Native American populations. New Mexico has the highest percentage of people of Hispanic ancestry of any state, some recent immigrants and others descendants of Spanish colonists. The state also has a large U.S. Amerindian population. As a result, the demographics and culture of the state are unique for their strong Spanish, Mexican, and Native Americancultural influences.
